Over the years, as poetry took up more of my time, I joined writers’ groups, and started entering poetry competitions with some success. I have been published in…

PLANNING... I can't tell you how many man (and wom PLANNING... I can't tell you how many man (and woman hours!) have gone into planning the Herts Book Festival. We are grateful for every minute that our volunteers donate. This is Kate @pinsnfeathers on Twitter, a member of @hertfordwriters and our 'author coordinator '. If you are promoting a book at the festival, it's likely you've spoken to Kate.

We have a few behind the scenes roles that we'd love some help with. Mostly, we need a team to help manage the events on the 7th May in Hertford and the 8th May in Ware. If you're interested, please drop us a line or comment below.

2 MONTHS TO GO... What are we doing? Honestly, it' 2 MONTHS TO GO... What are we doing? Honestly, it's more a case of what are we not doing! We are buzzing with ideas and are incredibly grateful with the enthusiasm and support we have received from the town councils, the Rotary Club and the community.

Tonight, I have been fiddling with press releases and posters. (Here's a little work in progress.) You can check out some of the events we have planned on the blue strip. I'm looking forward to the book themed Dance and Drama Showcase and we have some cracking authors running workshops.

What do you think? Do you know anyone who'd be happy to display a poster to help us publicise the festival? Please tag them in the comments if you do.
