I came to writing having worked in the bank industry for over thirty years: watching my niece Evie exploring my North London garden inspired me to write.
My own pleasure in spending time in the garden, watching everything growing and changing with the seasons, motivated me to create my first children’s book with Evie’s help.
I hope that Evie: the Small Garden will capture other children’s imagination at an early age and inspire them to enjoy their own gardens and outdoor spaces.
Exploring and learning from nature outdoors is crucial for children’s physical and emotional development. It can help critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and empathy. It also encourages physical activity, creativity, and imaginative play. Additionally, exposure to nature can foster environmental awareness and a deep appreciation for the natural world.
