Jon Berry

Jon Berry spent 28 years teaching English in Hertfordshire state schools and another 18 at the
University of Hertfordshire where he still works part-time. His has written widely about
education, politics and football – sometimes all at once. His latest book, From Azeem to Ashes
combines provocation and humour, as it asks cricket searching questions about its relationship
with race and class. When he’s not working or writing, he does voluntary work to support asylum
seekers, hacks and swears his way round the golf course and endures pain and suffering
following his beloved Birmingham City.
