Roxy Eloise

I never believed I could be an author when I was child and stopped writing after I left school because an English teacher unintentionally made me believe I wasn’t good enough. It was only in my late twenties that motivational speakers instilled a new-found belief in me and I decided I would do whatever it took to be an author or die trying. My debut novel is coming this year! It attracted its publishers in a Twitter event called PitMad and the actual story was inspired by a dream, the best dream I’ve ever had.

The Guidal: Discovering Puracordis is the first in a trilogy, and follows a determined, smart-mouthed 16-year-old transitioning into the adults’ quarter of a strict institute. Although she wants to follow the rules, she struggles with them badly and is disciplined often. One day, whilst grossly breaking the rules, she discovers she is special and also a little bit dangerous. It’s a mixture of near-future, teen angst, and a rollercoaster journey of unpredictability through Aurora’s first year as an adult.
