Pippa Harvey

Pippa’s debut novel ‘The Watcher’s Lullaby’ is a psychological thriller – a spooky tale told through the voices of two women, with over a century between them, who both experience strange and emotional occurrences living in the same farmhouse. The novel weaves together themes of motherhood and post-natal depression. Inspired by Pippa’s aunt and uncle’s move to a creepy Tudor farmhouse, it evokes the timeless, remote Suffolk landscape.

Pippa revived her childhood love of telling stories when she attended a creative writing course and began writing ‘The Watcher’s Lullaby’ shortly afterwards, self-publishing in February 2024 under the imprint Feisty Squirrel Books.

Pippa has recently submitted her second novel to agents, ‘Death and Other Desserts’:

Pink wafers. Flapjack. Trifle. Tastes of childhood. Portals to Beth Campbell’s past.  Beth’s mother dies suddenly, knocking off the icing that had covered the cracks in their relationship.  Why did she keep her terminal illness secret?  What drove her to leave her family, when Beth was still a child?  The discovery of her mother’s recipe scrapbooks unlocks clues to these mysteries. Each chapter is named after a key dish and recipes are included.

Pippa is currently the Writer in Residence at the Letchworth Settlement.  In her former professional lives, she practised as an employment law solicitor and later
became a primary school teacher. For fun, she enjoys reading, dancing tango and rollercoasters.  She lives with her two fantastic teenagers, husband Mike and a black and white cavapoo, Luna.
